History
PDS International Corporation has a history of nearly half a century. Our
company's business started in late 1960 when the founder, Taro Takase,
a former editor for Kyodo News (Then Domei News) established Press Data
Service (PDS).
In the early years, our company distributed the Japanese-translated version
of the economic, financial and business news of VWD (Vereignite Wirtshaftsdienste
GmbH), Germany's leading economic special news agency, headquartered in
Eschborn, through Kyodo News.
Then, our company expanded our customer base into Nikkei Shimbun, the Japan Industrial News (Nikkan Kogyo), Nihon Kogyo (current Fuji Sankei Business i) and Dempa Shimbun. Later, we added industry journals such as Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun, The Chemical Daily (Kagaku Kogyo Nippo), and The Japan Maritime Daily (Nihon Kaiji Shimbun) as our clientele.
Our company's growth gained momentum at the end of the 1970s when we started
services for the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). In the 1980s,
the scope of our business began expanding into services in the area of
public relation, advertising, event planning and web marketing, with expansion
of our clients into international organizations and companies such as ASEAN
Promotion Centre on Trade, Investment and Tourism (ASEAN Centre), General
Motors Corporation and a number of Japanese corporations.
